Podcast Pre Production

A large diaphragm microphone is appropriate because it is specifically suited to recording studio audio which makes it extremely good at voice recordings. They make audio appear bigger and louder. A cardioid polar pattern microphone has a pickup angle of 131 degrees so it can accommodate two people. It can even pick up sounds using the wandering mic technique. The cardioid polar pattern also offers good feedback rejection. Condenser mics are made with a lightweight diaphragm which is suspended by a fixed plate. Sound waves cause pressure against the diaphragm which causes it to move. Due to the thin diaphragm and increased sensitivity, condenser mics are often used to pick up delicate sounds. Condenser mics are best suited for capturing vocals and high frequencies.
