Canon Existing Product Evaluation


In this print advert for canon they are showing off their Ixus camera. They show the camera in a variety of different colours which shows it's range, this is important because it shows thought behind the product which makes the audience aware that the company cares about what they want their product to look like.

The camera is rather simple to use which is apparent from the few buttons, making it easy for beginners, this is impact because it allows the camera to appeal to a wider audience. It is an option for beginners or experts which as a result brings the company more money because they will be selling to more people.

Canon uses the slogan "Get creative with your world" this statement is very important because of the use of one word in particular. The word "your" is very personal so it feels like the brand is specifically talking to you as an individual and not the demographic as a whole. It will make the buyer feel special so they will be inclined to buy it as it feels specifically made for their use.

The image in the background is a very good resolution, we know it is taken by the camera because it is reflected on the camera which is held by the woman in the image. By showing the capability of the product you are more likely to capture your audiences attention because they are now aware of how good it is.


In the image you can see the woman holding the camera. She is portrayed to look almost regal and above other people, this shows that the brand holds their audience to a very high degree, suggesting that they are the most important people in the world.

In the background there is a sign saying "enjoy a new ixus experience" this is telling the audience that this new model is far better than the previous one, they do not need to say how because they already have gained the trust of their audience.

There is a slogan saying "when style meets audience" this backs up my first point, the brand is saying that if you own this camera you have style which is not true but it definitely helps during sales because the audience will almost feel empowered by the camera.
